Your Support Matters
This morning the Humane Society of Yuma had a male, Shepard mix enter our shelter. He is extremely emaciated, covered in ticks as well as mud and was in need of immediate medical attention. Though his condition is quite grave, the Humane Society of Yuma is doing everything we can to get Zero on the road to recovery but his condition is unstable at the moment. With our best efforts and the help we are getting from local vets in the area, we hope to get Zero healthy soon.
We are asking anyone in Yuma County that may have any information regarding Zero to please reach out to the Yuma County Animal Control at 928-783-4427 or the Humane Society of Yuma at 928-782-1621. We are not sure at this time if we are calling Zero a cruelty case as he may have a medical underlying issue causing his severe emaciation.
The Humane Society of Yuma is asking for donations towards his care and other dogs and cats that enter our facility just like Zero did. Annette Lagunas, Executive Director states, “cases like Zero are hard for our staff and volunteers to see. But with the help of the veterinary community and the public we can continue to help Zero and others. As always we ask the community to come forward when they see animals who may not be being treated humanely”.
