It's your last chance to make your tax-deductible donation before the New Year and we have so many animals that need your help.
For example, Tom, a little terrier without a nose, arrived at the Humane Society of Yuma on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 in need of immediate medical attention.
Tom, a stray, was brought in by San Luis Animal Control and immediately treated for his wound, a gaping hole where his nose should have been. It is unclear what caused his injury but the HSOY team determined it is an old wound that he has been suffering with for some time.
Named for Tom Riddle in "Harry Potter" Tom is determined to survive and the HSOY team is doing everything in their power to provide the best possible outcome.
The HSOY team sedated Tom and then cleaned the wound, clipped the hair around it, removed some loose front teeth and put Tom on antibiotics. He can breathe, eat and smell now. When Tom gets healthier, he will require surgery to piece back together some loose skin in the area to create an upper lip.
Would you please help to fund the ongoing medical care required for Tom? We would be grateful for each and every donation to help him recover and ultimately be adopted into his forever home. No matter how big or small, every donation makes a difference in the lives of these innocent animals.
If you would like to donate to help care for Tom and the other animals in the care of HSOY, please donate below or you can mail donations to 4050 S. 4 1/2 E Yuma, AZ 85365.
Thank you for your generous contributions and caring for innocent animals in our community.
